Personal Touch Home Care of Virginia started offering hospice services in 1998 and it has developed into a comprehensive program with a talented team of professionals who want to provide the best care for you and your loved ones. Hospice offers the following services: ​ Available 24/7: Our nurses are available at any time, day or night. They can help you manage issues over the phone or send someone out to the home. Our goal is to give you peace of mind knowing there is help only a phone call away. ​ We’ve got you covered: All prescriptions, medical equipment, and medical supplies related to the hospice diagnosis are completely covered. ​ Support: The most meaningful experience that comes from receiving hospice care is the support we provide. We have a large interdisciplinary team that will provide emotional and spiritual support, education, and connect you with community resources to make sure every last need is met.   Pain Management: Our nurses work under the close supervision of our medical director who can help guide patients and their families on how to best manage end of life discomforts. ​ Volunteer services: We have an active hospice volunteer program that can enrich the lives of hospice patients and their families.

Palliative care is specialized medical care for people living with serious illnesses such as cancer, dementia, Parkinson’s disease, and heart failure. The goal is to provide quality of life while receiving services to manage symptoms as well as treatment to cure the illness. Hospice care is focused on providing comfort and quality of life to those approaching the end of life. Hospice is engaged when the illness is not responding to treatment and efforts to cure the illness are stopped –typically when the physician believes there are six (6) months or less. It is important to obtain hospice services early to take full advantage of the many services and assistance it offers. It can help provide months of meaningful care.
