Volunteer: Adminstrative Office Support

The Peninsula MRC is seeking a volunteer specifically for administrative help who can commit to consistent hours to help cover administrative tasks in their headquarters office in Newport News.

This position requires consummate office-productivity skills, a knack for organization, a way with people and flexibility under a fluid changing environment and certain amount of pressure.

Will perform a variety of clerical and organizational tasks, including answering phones; scheduling appointments and meetings; photocopying and filing; ordering supplies; expense accounting; and creating and editing documents, spreadsheets and presentations.

Primary tasks focus around administrative detail associated with onboarding/processing new volunteers, alerting volunteers of opportunities to serve, tracking volunteer hours, and reporting involvement to stakeholders.

Requires:
Consistent hours on a schedule that you set (Monday through Thursday, daytime)
Self starter with attention to detail
Excellent computer skills
Excellent people skills
Ability to think outside of the box / creative / progressive
Collaborative - team work

You must be 18 years or older, and pass a background investigation.

In order to help build prepared, healthy, strong communities, the Peninsula MRC conducts a wide variety of events and activities in the Williamsburg, James City County, York County, Poquoson, Newport News, and Hampton areas.

The Peninsula MRC is seeking a volunteer or a team of volunteers specifically for logistical support of these events.

This position requires consummate logistical productivity skills, a knack for organization, a way with people and flexibility under a fluid changing environment and certain amount of pressure.

Volunteers must be able to lift and carry heavy objects, load and unload vehicles, set-up and breakdown events.  The primary equipment location is Peninsula MRC Headquarters in Newport News, however event sites will vary across Peninsula and Hampton.

Requires:
Ability to lift and carry heavy objects

Availability prior to and following events on a rotation basis (with enough volunteers)
Self starter with attention to detail
Excellent grouping, organizational skills with a knack for visualizing an appropriate set-up based on the event and the audience it will capture
Excellent people skills
Ability to think outside of the box / creative / progressive
Collaborative - team work
