Meetings are starting now! Time commitments are roughly 2-4 hours a month increasing to 5-8 hours a week closer to Walk day.

Volunteer: The Longest Day Volunteer Committee

Volunteer committee members will work in conjunction with the Chapter Staff Partner in recruiting participants for The Longest Day Campaign. In addition to recruiting new participants, the Volunteer Committee is to be focused on raising revenue, increasing awareness and promoting the concept of The Longest Day Campaign.

The Longest Day is a signature event of the Alzheimer's Association. It provides growth and opportunity to the organization by : a) bringing new audiences to our cause, b) raising new revenue, c) engaging companies and associations in a new way, and d) allows people the flexibility to participate and fundraise in the way that works best for them.

The Alzheimer’s Association Early Stage programs are specialized educational and supportive programs for people recently diagnosed with early stage Alzheimer’s disease or another form of dementia and their care partner(s). In the role of Early-Stage Support Group Facilitator, individuals may be responsible for Support-Focused Groups for people living with the disease and care partners.

Walk to End Alzheimer's is the Association's largest awareness-building and fundraising event, occurring in the fall (Newport News Oct. 20, Williamsburg Oct. 27).
