What We Do at Thriving Transmen of Color (TTMOC)
Thriving Transmen of Color (TTMOC) is a grassroots nonprofit committed to empowering and uplifting Black, Brown, and Indigenous Transmasculine individuals through direct support, advocacy, and community-building. We exist to fill the gaps often overlooked by traditional systems, providing resources that affirm our existence, identity, and future.
Our work includes:
Mutual Aid & Emergency Support: From Lyft ride codes to gender-affirming garments and hygiene kits, we offer practical, real-time support to help our community survive and thrive.
Financial Literacy & Planning: We host workshops and 1:1 support sessions on budgeting, credit, retirement planning, and entrepreneurship because wealth building should be accessible to all of us.
Mental & Emotional Health: We facilitate healing-centered spaces including support circles, check-ins, and events that prioritize joy, care, and belonging.
Advocacy & Visibility: TTMOC pushes for policies and partnerships that uplift Transmasculine BIPOC voices collaborating with organizations like Equality Virginia, the ACLU, and the Human Rights Campaign.
Cultural Celebration & Community Events: Whether it’s a Sunday dinner, Pride event, or healing retreat, we create moments that center Black and Brown Trans joy, history, and love.
Future Goals: We aim to secure land for a permanent shelter, community center, and healing garden spaces built by and for Transmen of Color to live, grow, and lead.
