Virginia Peninsula Foodbank - Box Packing Assembly Line

Calendar Happens On Sep 18, 2026

Description

Access to nutritious food should never depend on where someone lives, their age, or their ability to travel. Every box packed helps provide nutritious food to neighbors across the Virginia Peninsula. As a Box Packing Assembly Line volunteer, you will work alongside a team of volunteers to prepare nonperishable and nutritious food boxes for distribution through our Mobile Food Pantry and Senior Distribution programs. These boxes help ensure that individuals, families, and older adults have access to the food they need.

Volunteer responsibilities may include:

  • Building and assembling boxes
  • Packing food items into boxes
  • Restocking products along the assembly line
  • Breaking down cardboard and maintaining a clean workspace
  • Stacking completed boxes onto pallets for distribution

This role requires standing for the duration of the shift and may involve lifting up to 25 pounds. Volunteers should wear comfortable clothing suitable for a warehouse environment and closed-toe shoes are required.
