An Alzheimer’s Association support group is an open gathering of people with common problems, needs and interests who come together to share their feelings, thoughts and experiences in a combined effort to better cope with and manage the shared problems of dementia in a safe environment. The goal of the Alzheimer’s Association support groups is to provide emotional, social and/or educational support to group members. In the role of Caregiver Support Group Facilitator, individuals may be responsible for one or more of the following types of groups: General Caregiver, Adult Child, Spouse, Men, Language-specific, or other.
